Christina Yu is a multidisciplinary filmmaker working across narrative and essay forms. Raised in China and Australia, where she received formative training in music, Yu later exchanged to Taiwan and is currently based in New York to complete her undergraduate studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Film & Television, with a minor in anthropology.
Informed by a parallel engagement with the social sciences and the creative arts from a young age, Yu approaches filmmaking with a sensitivity to rhythm, silence, and emotional undercurrents, and she is interested in storytelling that moves humans between systems of perception.
Her films often engage with questions of identity, diaspora, and cross-cultural consciousness through observational structures. As a writer, director, and editor, she views narrative as fluid and continuously transformable, channeling intuition and emotional vulnerability into her distinctive cinematic language.
